Innov8 Labs Officially Launches in Brunei!

Innov8 officially celebrates its Grand Launch, marking the beginning of a new era in Cybersecurity and Artificial Intelligence training and services. Discover our vision to build future-ready talent and secure digital transformation.

We are proud to announce the official launch of Innov8 Labs, Brunei’s first full-fledged capability centre dedicated to driving digital transformation, AI innovation, and talent development. Officiated by Yang Mulia Awang Haji Hairul Mohd Daud bin Haji Abdul Karim, Deputy Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications, the launch brought together industry leaders, partners, and distinguished guests to celebrate Brunei’s growing presence in the regional digital economy.

At Innov8 Labs, we are committed to bridging the nation’s digital skills gap by providing specialized services in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, data protection, and digital transformation. Through our CURE framework – Certifications, Upskilling, Reskilling, and Employability – we empower Bruneians to thrive globally. Our goal is to equip Bruneians with in-demand skills that strengthen employability, drive innovation, and support sustainable collaboration across industries. By applying this framework, we are nurturing a future-ready workforce that not only meets global standards but also fuels meaningful partnerships and innovation at home and abroad.

A major highlight of the event was the signing of key Memoranda of Understanding. Our partnership with AI Singapore will contribute to SEA-LION, an open-source large language model for Southeast Asia, ensuring Bruneian linguistic and cultural identity is represented in regional AI development while offering local talent hands-on opportunities in advanced AI research. Our collaboration with IBM Malaysia brings IBM SkillsBuild to Brunei, providing learners with access to foundational and advanced digital training in areas such as AI, cybersecurity, cloud computing, and data analytics, strengthening the nation’s digital talent pipeline.

We also launched tanyabrunei.com in collaboration with IBM, an AI-powered platform currently in its pilot phase, which enables citizens to access publicly available information from the Ministry of Transport and Infocommunications and the Ministry of Finance and Economy. As the platform expands to other government agencies, it will serve as a single AI gateway for public services, reflecting Brunei’s commitment to harnessing technology for greater citizen engagement and service delivery.

Through these initiatives, we are proud to support Brunei Darussalam’s National Vision 2035, empowering local talent, fostering digital readiness, and driving innovation that benefits both the nation and the wider region.

Together, let’s shape Brunei’s digital future. Join us as we build Brunei’s digital capabilities and unlock opportunities for growth and innovation
